Living In A Cardboard Box

I’m sitting in a well furnished, cardboard house, on the outskirts of Aartan Ridge. In the distance I can here the WIZ, BANG! of the Trout Cannon © (TM) firing into the scattered jumble of temporary buildings and shelters that huddle beneath Aartan’s might walls.

Keso must be having a bad day again.

Sitting with me huddled around the fire are Starrie and Poze, two of Caartan Ridges longest standing citizens. They’ve been sitting here for a couple of months now and with Aartan closing it’s gates to new members for a while, they could well be here a lot longer.

Aartifex

Crafters Unite

Aartan Ridge has a new Association this month. Aartifex the new crafters guild has been set up to help all you struggling artisans in Aartan, get up to speed with life in the heady world of making stuff.

Blasters soon to be made in the Ridge

The idea for the association originally came from either Gol'wan or John Caponey, neither of them is quite sure which.

As with all of Aartan's associations the first thing to decide was the name. A few different ones were tossed

A Day In The 

Life Of Aartan 

Hi fellow citizens. The Names Moeszyslak, I'm Talon's bar tender and Id like to introduce a new little feature in The Star this month.

Talon asked me to write a bit about Aartan so I thought I'd tell you a little about what I get up to on an average day.

Not all of us citizens live in fancy pants houses like some I could mention, well one guy with a mustache and more money than sense. Some of us have to work for a living so I spend my nights sleeping in the bar. It's a great spot with hardly any rats or nothin'.

My day begins at around 10am, I get up and usually have to throw Jawas out O the bar.

Aartan Ridge 

Closes It's Doors

With much gnawing and gnashing of teeth, from the poor huddled masses waiting outside, Aartan Ridge closed it gates last month.

The final 5 (see New Members section) were ushered in in a grand ceremony held in Novus square and the towns folk partied on into the night.

Spirits were also high out in Caartan with many vowing to stay on wait, no mater how long it took to gain entrance to the city they can't wait to call home.

All the city Elders were on hand to get the celebration off to a good start including Garan Kesomir head of the Cybaea Corporation, (Formally ARCC), who has just undergone laser rejuvenation therapy. 

Our mayor in waiting Doc Novus had some words of encouragement for those who are left out in the cold.

"Congratulations one and all." He said.

"For those guys that narrowly missed out this time: I hope you stick around. It's really more of a case of when you get into the PA rather than if."

Caartan Ridge

Leaving the celebrations inside I cracked open the gate and decided to wander into Caartan to see how the folks out there were taking the news.

Instead of the subdued crowed I had expected to find squatting round there camp fires I was surprised to a lot of cheerful happy faces
